What Is The Expedited RT-PCR COVID-19 Test?

The Expedited RT-PCR COVID-19 test that we offer here at Covid Clinic, Inc. offers same-day or next-day test results, and meets most travel restriction requirements. Please note, it is up to the patient to review any travel restrictions applicable prior to booking an appointment in order to ensure the service will meet the patient’s travel restriction requirements. This rapid COVI-19 test collects specimens by a nasopharyngeal swab, and it must be collected within 48 to 72 hours upon arriving at the  patient’s final destination. Please keep in mind, seeing as Covid Clinic, Inc. does not own or is not affiliated with the laboratory, we cannot guarantee that results will be received within the requested time frame, although we do our very best to meet those timelines. Potential Risks:

  • Possible discomfort or other complications that can occur during sample collection
  • Possible incorrect test results (although unlikely)

Potential Benefits:

  • Results can help your healthcare provider make informed recommendations about your care
  • Results may help limit COVID-19 exposure to your family, friends, and community

How Does The Expedited RT-PCR COVID-19 Test Work?

This test helps to detect nucleic acid from the nasopharyngeal swabs to determine whether or not the patient has the COVID-19 virus. Keep in mind, positive results are indicative with the presence of the virus, and should be taken into consideration with the patient history and diagnostic information to determine the infective status. We at Covid Clinic, Inc. use the QuantiVirus™ SARS-CoV-2 Test kit, which is intended for use only by qualified and trained clinical laboratory personnel specifically instructed and trained in the techniques of real-time PCR and in vitro diagnostic procedures.
